2 . 30pm All Aboard ! Shortly afterwards MV Saga Ruby sails for Keelung , Taiwan Should you become lost please have this programme with you and make use of the following information . Please note that you will need your Boarding Swipe Card in order to proceed ashore .

Face to Face Inspection Upon our arrival in Hirara , a Face to Face inspection is required by the Immigration Officials for all passengers going ashore . This will take place in the Britannia Lounge ; entry will be via the Library and exit via the South Cape Bar . You will be required to carry a TLP ( Temporary Landing Permit ) when you go ashore , and this will be issued to you at the entrance of the Britannia Lounge before the inspection . Please listen out for announcements via the public address system inviting you to the Inspection . Upon your final return to the ship before sailing , please place the TLP in the box provided by the gangway or return it to Reception . If you are remaining on board you will not be
required to attend the Inspection .
Shuttle Bus Service There will be a complimentary shuttle bus service between the ship and the local market area . The first
shuttle bus will leave the ship at 9 . 00am and will run at approximately 15 minute intervals each way throughout our stay . The last shuttle bus will leave the market area at 2 . 00pm . Within walking distance from the shuttle drop off point is Nishizato Street where you will find the shopping area .
Please note , it is strictly prohibited to take any food ashore in Hirara

Hirara in a nutshell Hirara is situated on Miyako Island which is known for having some of Japan ' s best beaches and is a great destination for snorkelling and diving in the coral reefs . The sub tropical climate provides mild weather all year round . It is the fourth largest island in the Okinawa Prefecture . The island is mostly covered by sugar cane fields with a few towns , among which Hirara is the largest with a moderate range of restaurants and bars . The islands making up the Okinawa Prefecture , are also known as the Ryukyu Islands , named after the native culture , which is distinctly different from that of the rest of Japan in terms of language , cuisine and the arts . An independent kingdom and tributary state to China for several centuries , the Ryukyu Islands came under control of the Satsuma feudal system in the 17th century , and were made a Japanese prefecture in 1879 .

Virtuoso of Variety , Davie Howes
Davie Howes has been performing in major UK venues for the past 25 years . In 1999 he began working for the cruise industry , and quickly became one of the most sought after headline acts on the high seas . His high energy musical variety show has been used to launch most of the major new super liners over the past few years . Davie prides himself on the originality of his musical arrangements ( all written by himself ) as he divides his career between cruising and writing music for TV and films at home with his family in England .
The headline show features his unique piano style , comprising a mixture of classical , jazz , Latin and also rock ; " trumpet " styling of the music of Harry James , Louis Armstrong , to modern contemporary . His light hearted approach to making original music live on stage also involves creating instruments from the ships interior and exterior . Add to this Davie ' s vocal styling , humour and amazing drum and percussion ; this show has been refined for all ages , and nationalities and provides the " wow " factor time and time again .
