Impressionist painters brushed cerulean blue across their canvases , the perfect representation of a summer sky . The same brush could have painted the waters surrounding Miyako - jima , the largest among the Miyako Islands . Stretching out before sugar - white sand , the clear waters , dotted with tropical fish , are fringed by towering mangroves . This small volcanic island , ablaze with natural wonders also boasts cultural delights , including a German Heritage Village and a factory producing salt with the highest mineral content in the world . Miyakojima immigration requirements Local Immigration authorities require every guest to carry the Japanese Provisional Landing Permit ( attached to your passport copy ) when going ashore in Japan . Please use the same copy that was used in Okinawa yesterday . The copy will need to be presented to the local officials when proceeding ashore . Numbered Tender Ticket Service We will be operating a tender ticket number system . Charter Groups : Please meet at the assigned time by your charter leaders in either the Princess Theater or Explorer ' s Lounge , as they ' ve assigned you . Charter Teams will be there to issue number tender tickets as you arrive . Passengers on a ship ' s organized tour , please meet at requested time in the Vivaldi Dining Room , Deck 5 Midship . Independent passengers please make your way to the Savoy Dining Room , Deck 5 when your party is gathered to collect a ticket from the Cruise Staff . You will then be seated in the comfort of the Savoy Dining Room until you are instructed and escorted to the next available tender . Please remember that you must not collect tender tickets or enter the dining room until you and your complete party are ready to go ashore . We operate as safely and efficiently as possible , and we do expect the boating operation to be very busy at first , therefore if you are not in any particular rush to go ashore , we would suggest perhaps taking advantage of a slightly later breakfast onboard and enjoying the comfort and facilities of Sapphire Princess . Tender tickets are not required for your return . Wheelchairs & Motorized Scooters Guests confined to wheelchairs and motorized scooters will not be able to use the tender service for safety reasons . Guests who are able to move , assisted by ship ' s staff independently of their wheelchair , may use the tender service . For further inquiries , please contact the Passenger Services Desk .
Ted Ribbons hailing from Motown , Detroit " Rock City " graduated with two degrees at Penn State University in Theater and World History , he moved to Beijing making it his home where he concentrated on his Acting , Directing and Producing Career at the Cheeky Monkey Theater . He was involved in some of the Performances and Show Direction at the Shanghai World Expo and after his performing in the Chinese National Center for Performing Arts he decided to go to sea and this is where he joined the Princess Cruises fold in 2014 . Spanning three years at sea on the Sun , Sapphire and Majestic , Ted has enjoyed the beautiful Mediterranean and now finds himself heading up the Asia Region in his current position of Cruise Director . When not sailing Ted enjoys practicing Calligraphy , Chen style Taiji , Yoga and is studying Ayurvedic Medicine and TCM .

For your own safety please read the Tender Safety Notice at the head of the gangway and familiarise yourself with the contents of the Emergency Instructions Notice posted in the cab of each tender . You are reminded that there must be no smoking whilst in the tenders and that to avoid risk of injury , you must keep your hands and arms off the side of the tender as it comes alongside the ship or wharf . It is important that you follow the instructions given to you by crew members and that you remain seated whilst in the tenders . Do not get in , out or stand in the tenders until instructed to do so by the ship ' s staff .
